When Beverwyck opened its doors in 1993, it was one of the first full-service senior living communities in Albany County. Twenty-five years later it remains the premier senior living community for more than 300 residents from all over New York State.
Located on 80 scenic acres off Krumkill Road in Slingerlands NY, Beverwyck started with 85 independent senior living apartments and 15 cottages. Two years later, the community expanded to include 85 additional apartments and an auditorium.
Over the years, the needs of Beverwyck residents changed, and the decision was made to add another level of care. The Terrace at Beverwyck opened in 1999 with 41 enriched housing living units, followed by a $5.3 million expansion in 2007 that added 14 Independent Living deluxe cottages. To round out the full continuum of care, Eddy Village Green at Beverwyck opened in 2011, adding skilled nursing care to the one-of-a-kind senior living community. Now, with multiple levels of care, residents are able to move between levels as needed, without moving to a different campus.
While Beverwyck has seen much progress over the past twenty-five years, one thing has remained unchanged, and that’s the superior level of services and amenities. All of the senior living residences at Beverwyck are maintenance-free with 24-hour security. Residents enjoy flexible dining options, an extensive calendar of social, cultural and educational events, the new indoor pool and spa, fitness programs and a host of amenities, including a full-service beauty salon and barber shop.
Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Beverwyck has set the standard for elegant and distinctive senior living in the Albany area, demonstrating a staying power and longevity uncommon in the industry.
