The Glen at Hiland Meadows will be embarking upon an exciting pilot program on-site with Sunset Farms, a local farm offering their own fresh produce and products from other regional farmers.
Each Thursday in August from 2pm to 5pm, Sunset Farms will set up a stand at The Glen to sell organic and healthy options to our residents and staff. Should this pilot be successful, we will continue this onsite farm stand into the future.
This opportunity would not be possible without the support of our Employee Events and Wellness Committee, the Creating Healthy Places To Live, Work & Play – Worksite Wellness initiative of Glens Falls Hospital, and Hal Bain, the farmer at Sunset Farms. Perhaps the most exciting thing about this endeavor is that it provides an opportunity for both our employees and residents to enjoy convenient access to healthy produce right here at The Glen while supporting the agricultural industry and family farms right here in our own community. A true win, win, win.
