Join us from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm as Dr. Fletcher gives an informative presentation on the topic of arthritis and Osteology. During his presentation, Dr. Fletcher will explore the causes and treatment options available for knee and hip joint pain.
Dr. Fletcher is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in hip and knee replacement. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and a member of the Eastern Orthopedic Association and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Dr. Fletcher has focused on minimally invasive surgery for many years with tremendous success. He has given several lectures at national orthopedic meetings about total hip and knee replacement and has also published several articles on Amputations and Leg Reconstruction.
More About Dr. Frederick Fletcher
Dr. Frederick J. Fletcher is a lifelong resident of Upstate New York’s Capital District. He graduated from Albany Medical College in 1986 and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he developed a special interest in total hip and knee replacements. To further refine his skills in this practice area, he completed a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1992. After his fellowship, Dr. Fletcher began his practice of Orthopedic Surgery in Albany and is currently on the staff of most of the hospitals in the Albany and Troy area.
Dr. Fletcher is the current Medical Director of the Total Joint Replacement Center at St. Peter’s Hospital. He serves on the Physician Council at St. Peter’s Hospital and is a member of the Executive Committee of OrthoNY. Dr. Fletcher was named a top physician in the category of Orthopedics as Capital Region’s Top Doctors 2015. He has been Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery since 1994 and was re-certified for an additional ten years in 2013. Dr. Fletcher is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners since 1987 and is also a member of the Eastern Orthopedic Society since 1997.
Dr. Fletcher is having tremendous success performing the Direct Anterior Hip Replacement, a minimally invasive approach using the HANA table. This approach often results in less pain and quicker recovery after a patient receives hip replacement surgery. Dr. Fletcher is also the only physician in the Albany area using ConforMIS custom total and partial knee implants. His patients receive implants that are specifically made for them and their unique anatomy.
